Jeff was first elected to the County Commission in 2020 representing District 2. He is a 42 year resident of Shawnee. He served as Mayor of Shawnee from 2004 to 2015. Prior to that he represented three of the four wards on the Shawnee City Council and before that had served as Chairman of the Zoning Board of Appeals from 1992 to 1997. During his time as Mayor, he was the Chairman of the Johnson and Wyandotte Counties Council of Mayors and was a Bi-state Commissioner for Union Station. He also served on the Johnson County Parks and Recreation Board for three years.

Jeff and his wife, Susie have been married for 43 years and have two adult daughters, Caitlin Kaczmarczyk and Brenna Fiser and have six grandsons. He is a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus and he and Susie are longtime members of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Shawnee.
Jeff is a graduate of Kansas State University where he also played football and was an educator and coach for almost 40 years. He was the head football coach at Olathe East High School for 23 years and coached track and baseball. He ended his teaching and coaching career in the Independence School District at William Chrisman High School and finished his teaching at Bridger Middle School teaching 6th graders.
