Keeping residents safe is and has always been my number one priority. Whether it’s the Sheriff’s Department, Med-Act, Fire Departments, or Parks Police, I will emphasize residents’ protection through these services.
Budget is the most important process that a commissioner is engaged in for residents. Providing services and being frugal and prudent is so important to keeping this one of the most desirable places to live and raise a family in the nation. I am proud to say since being a part of this commission, I have reduced the mill levy more than any commission in over the past 20 years and not reduced our services.
I take the responsibilities seriously and my record over the past four years proves it. I have done this by responding and communicating to residents’ questions and concerns. I serve as the Board of County Commissioners Vice Chair. I am on the board of the Johnson County Parks and Recreation District and the board of the Johnson County Education Research Triangle. I also serve on the Chief Elected Officials Board of the Workforce Partnership, and I am the County Liaison for the Solid Waste Management Committee. I am also a member of the Audit Committee and serve as the treasurer of the Public Building Commission. Along with the Wastewater Department, Mental Health Department, Human Services and Aging, Library, Court Services, and all other departments, I believe we are headed in the right direction. But I do not believe we can rest on our accomplishments. We need to “Continue the Progress”.
